How do you make your soap?

We use the cold-process method. Since minimal heat is required for the process, the soap retains all of its beneficial properties and is full of naturally occurring glycerin.

Does your soap contain lye? 

It is impossible to make true soap without using lye in the process. Through the miracle of chemistry, no lye remains in the final product.

Do your soaps contain animal-derived ingredients? 

No.  We absolutely do not use tallow, which is animal fat...YUCK!

We do offer a few soaps which contain by-products such as honey, goatmilk, or yogurt. These particular soaps will be clearly marked.

What if I am sensitive or allergic to commercially produced soaps? 

We believe that our soap is free of all the bad stuff that causes your skin to react adversely to commercially produced soaps. At least that is what our skin says.
If you have extremely sensitive skin, we recommend that you choose a soap with little or no additives.

Can I use your soap on my face, too?

Yes, but we recommend that you choose a soap with little or no abrasive.

How long does your soap last?

With proper care, your soap will live a long and happy life. Remember to keep dry between uses, and keep away from direct heat or sunlight. Soap may be frozen to extend shelf-life.

How long does the scent last?

We distribute essential oils throughout the entire bar, so your soap should smell good for as long as it lasts. However, staying power varies for each essential oil. We do recommend that you use your soap as soon as possible to enjoy its full benefits.

How big are your bars of soap?

Bars range from 4.5 to 6.5 ounces.
